Greetings, I'm here again with more electrical problems. The truck is a 2004 VNL 630, D12D 465 with Eaton RTO1691C-AS2 auto-shift transmission. Occasionally the trans will miss a shift, then find it. When I check the diagnostics, there's an inactive code MID130 SID251 FMI5. As best I can decipher, the code is for transmission ECU power supply. Yesterday morning the code was an active fault and the truck would'nt start. When I finally did get it started, it would not shift right. later in the day it was ok. I think I'm intermittently losing power to the TECU. I have 3 power leads coming from the batteries. I think one is the engine ECU, one is trans ECU, and I'm not sure what the third would be. I guess my question is; can I buy the TECU power supply harness or just try to find and fix whats wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
More Volvo nightmares. Code: MID130 SID251 FMI5

I'm probably not the right person to give advice on this... however I do know from experience that AT trans are FINICKY about power. Had a buddy with an early 2000s Volvo who had probs with AT. Swapped battery cables and cleaned terminals and the problem cleared up. Of course he did this after 2 trips to the mechanic that cost him thousands.... smh. Just a thought, hope it helps!!

If you are willing to get a bit dirty, it's not that bad to follow power/ground leads from battery box area back to tecu. You will need a good, sharp cutters for zip ties and a good light. Come on, it's spring time.......you can do this.

you can buy the whole harness which comes with power supply and more importantly it comes with data and ign wiring as well, usually after some time they just start going i think the harness is around 250 put it in one time secure it good make sure it doesn't rub anywhere and you should be good for a long while, i've tried fixing them and they work just fine until the next wire breaks and it just gets to be a #####.

I wasn't going to tell you about the floor access panel because it might require some floor covering being cut. If you open that access panel you you can easily replace the whole harness like Nasriza said. I believe it is even cheaper than $200.
