That’s it! I just googled the name Art Bell and that’s it, thank you it was driving me nuts. “Coast to Coast”. I just remember even as a little kid thinkin some of these people are nuttier than a squirrel terd. Yep, it was Coast to Coast out and Bob & Tom back.

I used to listen to that while driving around delivering newspapers back in the day. George Noory. Sometimes I had to change the station. Would get creeped out in the middle of the country thinking I was seeing things LOL

And who can remember Dave Nemo when he was based in New Orleans on 710 am, Bill Mack when he was on WBAP, or the TruckinBozo. I listened to Steve for awhile when he took over the show from Dale but he got too political and the callers got stupider over time.

Another thing that has influenced my decision to sit tight is that I'm starting to notice more and more true truck owners pulling out of the spot market and leasing on with carriers.
Example : I'm parked in New paris Ohio at the petro and next to me is a very worn w900L with fresh vinyl lettering leased to
J@R Shugal out of New ulm mn .
Not a good time to be making major moves for me and the spot market from what I read is collapsing....both carriers I was thinking about going to do mostly spot market freight in bound to omaha .

One of my dads buddies has a driver in his truck running the reefer spot market and he said it’s absolute trash out there. I guess dude sat in the PNW for like 3 days before he found him something out of there, and what he found wasn’t great. I don’t know #### about ####, but sounds to me like you’re making the right decision stickin’ and stayin’.

Yeah I agree ...Im kind of observant and watch who's pulling what along with the condition of the equipment.
Seeing more and more junk now tore up and dirty .
That tells me they are broke and one better stay where the grass is green.
I've also been in this business as an oo many years and as company driver so I've seen a few things .
When people that own equipment leave the spot market and lease on to a long established carriers it's because of one thing ...SURVIVAL and a last ditch effort .
I've never been a fan of riding the spot market roller coaster and it's mind blowing to me why people do it with the information available these days .

Well and that’s exactly right. Not to mention a year or so ago when everyone was paying 250k for a clapped out truck to get into the market cuz the rates were so good. Well now it seems the rates aren’t so good, and guess who still has a payment to make on a truck with 2 million miles on it.

Some people just look at the shiny new large car that makes no sence .
A couple people at Morehouse bought brand new kw 990s ...nice trucks and the rates support it but with 3500.00 a month truck payments before insurance and licensing they arnt home much !
And they will need an inframe by the time they are paid for .
With the purchase price and the inframe I've got 84k into mine but it's not a large car ...I can afford to go home tho lol...and its paid for .
