Another post that makes me wish we had a "love" button instead of just "thank"!

Took a load of satellite parts up to Canada for a company I used to work for. Caught sight of the invoice attached to the packing list on crates in back. 16 million dollars. Didn't think we were insured that high.

    Gatordude and JoeyJunk Thank this.

I just billed a 3pl for a load we did a month ago. I had to wait for their paper work to send the bill.

It is the most bizarre load I ever had to deal with.

The consignee had a list of requirements for the truck and drivers we had to agree to before they accepted my company for the load.

There is a lot more I won’t say but it is a weird load.

    JoeyJunk and dwells40 Thank this.

    Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Must be high value because they made me go underground in a cave late at night to pick it up

Yeah I’ve been in those caves! You’d be surprised of the value of 46,000 pounds of cheddar cheese. Runs retail about $6 a pound. Multiplied by 46,000 pounds. That’s almost $280,000 you’re hauling

    JoeyJunk and dwells40 Thank this.

True, but for insurance purposes you don't use the retail value of the product you're hauling. It's always insured for the cost of the product which is a lot less. Your cargo insurance company would never pay a claim based on retail value.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

And that's not even factoring in the labor cost for that one person that filled them all out.

    That's nothing.

We just did a load that was even more bizarre with an even longer list of requirements that I will say even less about.

    It was weirder though.

I've hauled insulin, that's got to be up there. It should be free to boot.

    Gatordude Thanks this.
