assuming I will finance my truck at a bank or dealership, not lease it from the company, what are the most important questions to ask of a prospective owner-op company? which points should I compare to other companies to help me decide?

Questions that I would ask is the average pay (per miles, annually) for owner operators. Is pay per mile or percentage? Fleet average number of miles, deductions, freight lanes, who pays for base plates and permits, turnover rate, when you will be paid for loads, etc.,

Don't forget to ask the other owner operators already working with the company you are looking at what the BS factor is ...
