Well, I have another firm offer with Alan Ritchey. Story goes they would pay my RV park lot rent if I relocate to Odessa. Then the HR tells me oops! We have new management and we pay NONE of your lot rent or relocation costs for that matter. BUT, they do have yard in a small town south of Midland/Odessa where lot rent IS paid. Then that became working 4 days on, two off. Then I am told no, now it is 5 on and one off and every one starts at nights. This was for hauling production water. Their bennies weren't as good. No matching 401k.

EZrider, I am wondering about Winch Trucks. I was down in Texas a few weeks back and saw a bunch but was there to scope out other work and forgot to ask about them. This morning I looked at a couple up for sale/auction from a company what went belly up and wonder if what the work is and if it is worthwhile to invest a little money into one of them and drive it.

i will say though i do occasionally fill in on wench trucks every once in a while. I normally enjoy it. It can be much more challenging than driving tanker, although hauling frac tanks gets old before the end of the day but hauling oversize and odd loads with winch trucks is fun to me. I personally wouldn't want to be a winch truck driver full time, but don't mind hopping in one on the occasions that they ask me to. -
I enjoy driving winch truck, but as EZ said-frac tanks and pump skids get old pretty quick. I spent most of my time on direct drives, but hydraulics sure are nice-one outfit told me that it is getting harder to find experienced winch hands and that at least with hydraulic winches you don't have to teach a guy to drive two sticks as well-can't hardly believe that, but it might be true.
