I'm going to buy a new truck with Super B Specs. What would be the most trouble free engine? Detroit, Cummins, Cat or Volvo?

I've always stuck by Cat, if you can find one anymore. I heard Cat was getting out of the road truck market. The engines are very reliable, but God help you when they break down. Wow expensive to repair.

I just heard a rumor, possibly from within Cat, that they are not really getting out of the market. They're an international company, so why drop a product just because one silly country regulates it to death. So they're changing the name of the engine but it'll still be a Cat.

That's the best news I've heard all day! I always did like the Capertiller motor. Run like a racehorse, pull like an ox!

Cat has been out of the truck engine sales for almost two years now. Blame it on Big brother.

kajidono Thanks this.

I wonder if this is a good move or not.
International had some problems with their motors of late. -
Makes sense then. Two companies with differing problems could come up with a very nice engine. I hope they do.
