Most White Americans’ DNA Can Be Identified Through Genealogy Databases

I'm a pure mutt. Not tested yet.

 

I just found I'm generically North European. Mostly German, Irish/UK, and some Scandinavian.

 

I remember when I was a kid, maybe 11, my best friend made an offhanded remark about me “being German”. I didn’t know anything about my distant relatives heritage. But my best friend’s parents were real good friends with my parents. But somehow my friend must have overheard his parents talking and somehow the subject got around to my dad’s heritage.

I was so immediately offended when he brought that up to me that I hit him in the mouth, hard. Shocked him and all he could do was run away. We didn’t speak for a few days but then all was forgotten.

I guess in school I had heard about how awful “the Germans” were (Hitler), and I couldn’t imagine “being from there” and that he must have, #1 been lying to me. And #2 calling me a German. And that offended the hell out of that young kid who didn’t know enough.

 

Why should I care bout my DNA I was born in the U.S.A. So I'm American!

 

My Grandfather was a tail gunner, or belly gunner, in the B52 during the war.

 

And French Canadian, and Chippewa.
