Hey y'all. I'm using Motive, and I have never tried to use the split sleeper rule before.
I used up every bit of my previous 14, then went into the sleeper just under 8 hours ago. When I click the "Show Split Clocks" switch to on, it still shows me with no hours available anywhere except my 70.
Is this because I used up my entire previous 14 and haven't had 10 hours SB or OFF since then?
If I had gone into the sleeper before my 14 was up, would it be showing me with available hours right now?
Thanks in advance.

What are the DOT service hour regulations for oilfield drivers?
You're a little different with the oilfield rules.
Might have to start with a fresh 10 hour break, then use SB a minimum of 2 hours to stop the 14 hour clock.Flat Earth Trucker and RockinChair Thank this. -
I drove for Halliburton,we would always just use up the 14 after starting a shift.Get down to 10 or 20 hours left get a 24 hour break in to get a new 70.Started at 6 am every day but sometimes start at 3 am.We could use the Waiting at Wellsite sometimes to stop the 14 hour clock, that depends on the trailer/equipment you are pulling.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
I’m not familiar with oilfield rules, but basically if you used your entire 14 there’s nothing to split. You’d have to have time left on your 11/14 to be able to split.
