Motive no longer viable as paper log

I used an i pad on my Motive eld every time they did a update would have to delete motive app.
Then download it again and hope it would work with the apple product. Many times it took a few days before it would work right. Now if Apple did an update it would take Motive a few days to make it all work again.
When the company added the new camera system ( 2 years ago ) thats when everything seemed to change. Used to show like 12 miles from nearest bigger town parked. Today it's exactly where you are parked.
The camera I had only faced forward but it appeared they're was a lens on the camera that faced inward. Fixed that with a piece of electrical tape just incase.
If I got over 5 miles above the speed limit ( Not very often old and slow) it would start beeping and say overspeed. Would record what was on the camera and notify safety.
Another thing that popped up was if you missed your turn and stopped and backed up it would record and rat you off. This turned into a automatic termination for a few.
It appears the company can set what they want the system to do and when to report.
Kind of like PC which ours is set to 2 hours before it notifies.
Who knows what else it will do but am sure they pay more for all the bells and whistles.
All this happened when we were given a new black box and new camera about 2 years back.
I was told just last week that it does not keep track of the trailer number that you must enter along with waybill number.
We got people borrowing trailers not even leased on with company to do specialized loads.
Truck number is what is assigned to the load.
Got used to it and in the long run it was lot easier than paper logging. But I did not run up against my hours either.
I am at a company terminal .
Commission terminals violations are sent to the terminal staff to deal with. violations that go here seem to just disappear. It will bite them in the butt one day .
