I have a question that you may be able to answer. I was wondering, of the top 100 largest carriers, which one has the best safety record?

It's not about the "Best" safety record.

Any company at any time can have trouble and losses etc. I remember a two million miler who had his pete chopped off by a train in a middle of absolute no where Arizona once. He had a perfect hall of fame type record no losses until that day. Dallas made his front page that next morning.

In regards to records, search a carrier by it's DOT MC Number off the door. You might still be able to come up with records. OSHA related information by percentage of entire given work force in terms of injury, death etc. These are records and information I think is going to go away once the DOT number system also go away later this year or next.

You can have God's trucking company with a flawless record. But give him a few moments of a bad day someone getting making a mistake and that truck goes over the hill... that's that. It can happen to anyone at any time.

What you do NOT want is a shady bad trucking company who has one sentence in passible english. "Yer fine, run it."
