The driver obviously figured the car was not coming all the way over in front of him and when it did exactly that the driver had no time to stop to avoid the collision especially if he was grossed out on weight. I pull 79k pounds all the time and I’m telling you if he was heavy their wasn’t much he could do. The 4 wheelers at fought and should have license stripped from him.

It doesn't look like the trucker slowed much but I imagine he assumed the idiot 4-wheeler was going to u-turn and proceed back down the highway, and NOT cut across to the exit [that I'm guessing he was going to take anyway]. One of those situations where perhaps one should not have assumed the best case scenario, but rather planned for the worst case scenario, no matter how unlikely

Anyone know where this was? Kinda looks like the US 20/I-39 interchange in Rockford, Ill. I do believe the speed limit is 65 on that stretch.
After watching the vid a couple times, I am inclined to agree with @"semi" retired that the trucker could have done better to prevent that, and probably deserves some of the blame. I know none of us are perfect but anticipation is a big part of our job. We can't just set the cruise and sit back and expect everything to go smoothly. I know it doesn't seem right that we should have to babysit these 4-wheelers, but if it means saving my license, and somebody's life, I will go the extra mile and do what I can to prevent any incidents.longbedGTs, Roberts450 and Grumppy Thank this. -
dang. truck never stepped out of it. 65 mph to the point of contact. both drivers made poor decisions imho. i fail to believe a truck driver paying attention didn't have time to react. that driver either dgaf or was in la-la land for the several seconds leading up to impact. it was painfully obvious what the 4 wheeler was doing.
Roberts450, Grumppy and Kyle G. Thank this.
