So I have been running local for the last year, lots of stops a night and real #### roads. Mostly Michigan around the Detroit area and Cleveland, Ohio area. Before this I used a RAM mount bolted directly to the dash with a tablet mount that clamps on to the GPS. It was strong and never had an issue.
This local company I can't put holes in the dash or modify anything so I went to using the window suction cup mount. Worked good except over real bad bumps or rough patches the tablet part of the GPS would fall off the magnet base sometimes. I like having the magnet mount because I put lots of stop in the GPS every night and its a pain leaning over the steering wheel and trying to put 20 to 26 stops in with it mounted up there.
The problem is 2 of the 3 little tabs that clip into the magnetic base from the window mount broke off. Got a new mount sent from Rand under warranty but I figured Id try the ball mount with a double suction cup RAM mount. The Rand ball mount disintegrated in one night.
So I said screw it and adapted a RAM ball base to the magnetic base for the TND1050, just had to drill a couple holes. Figure Id post it since Im sure others are having issues if you drive on #### roads all the time also.

I called on mine. Took about a week or so to come in. Better option is to buy the ram mount. I’m happy with it.
