Mounting a Flatscreen TV in the truck

The way I see it is if I have a load, somewhere to go and hours, its all work. I'm fine with that. Makes me more money. But if I don't have any one of those, its my time.

As far as TV goes, to each their own. You may find solace in books, art, writing or prayer(NONE of which your company pays you for). I find it in shooting alien scum.

Back to topic, I found this. The grip opening is large enough to for over the lip on my ProStars top bunk. Good price, nice reviews. And most importantly, no holes and easily movable to a new truck.

 

Wish that worked on tvs a bit bigger than 27. I still haven't found a way I'm happy with, so lay it down on the bunk each day.

As for the side topic that's spawned from here, I stay out usually 3 months at a time. No way I'm doing that with zero entertainment. I've had loads that I get to the receiver on Saturday, and they don't open till Monday. Any otr driver that's says he only ever gets 10 hr down times is quite frankly, full of it. That's not even getting into sitting for 8 hrs getting unloaded. And two hours trip planning? Gimme a break. It doesn't take that long if you do it old school with an atlas and a ruler.

 

It really boils down to weight and width. If your rocking a 32 led or LCD, it should work fine. Arm extends 16.5 " which is more than enough and hold 22 lbs. The only thing you need to watch is your mounts on the back. All smaller TVs and most monitors use VESA 75 or 100. 30+ inch and you start to see 200(that's mm distance between holes). But for $10 on amazon you can pick up a converter bracket. Worst case, it doesn't work and you can sell it a truck stop on a Saturday for what you paid for it. Hell maybe more, TA wants $80 for the one they carry.

Never understood sitting in the drivers seat at the truck stop. That's the last place I want to be when I'm not driving. I know some of them get their entertainment by making fun of the rookies backing into parking spots, or just talking smack on the cb.

I sit in the driver seat if I'm not cool with falling asleep. Seems every time my backside hits the bunk, I'm on my way out.

 

Just signed into the site and saw this. Any picture updates on the mounting? I'm going back and forth between a 24" and 32" LED that weigh between 8-10lb, and want to mount it on the passenger side of the sleeper. Since it's so light and the cubby hole extends out quite a ways, I'm thinking about a hanging mount for the top portion and attaching sway braces from the bottom to the side wall. I'm not quite sure about how to pull that off, but any creative suggestions would be welcome.

 

i can tell you unless you have a 100+ inch bunk 32 is way to big. 19-24 is good tho

 

I put a 32" in my Pro Star (single bed 73"bunk) Its perfect, like being in a movie theater!!
I also have a regular single bed mattress which is about 6" shorter than the full truck mattress, made a wooden bench and the tv goes on top of that. I don't care for the various stands, had one for my 19" tv and no matter how you secure it the vibration eventually damages the electronics.
So the tv lays on two pillows when I'm driving, then just a matter of propping it up on the bench when I'm in the bunk.

 

I have a 32" in mine as well. I took shelf brackets and pipe strap from lowes and attached then to the wall mount on the back of the TV. Then bent the brackets to hang over the top upper front storage bin above the dash. Columbia with Condo sleeper.

TV is removed and placed on the back wall behind the restraint net for when rolling down the road.
