I was planning on mounting my General Lee in the headliner hole in my International 4300...
Was thinking I'd just get some foam and put some under and above it to hold it in tight... but the more I think about it, there 's the cooling aspect and the fact that it won't be "bolted" down.
How do people normally mount a radio in a headliner?

Aren't there provisions in the hole for you to add straps?
-
Honestly, maybe there is... I haven't looked that closely at it...
Now you mention it, there seems to be some holes at the bottom... maybe mount the bracket to the bottom? -
Unless YOU own the truck, I would not make a permanent or even semi-permanent mount. Use of straps means you can pull it out easily, if someone else uses the truck.

It's my truck.

OK, in that case it would be a good idea if you can go ahead and mount it with it's bracket. Do you have a power and antenna connection in there already?
-
There's a power and ground, best I can tell, straight from the battery. Still working on the antenna and its coax.
If I want to ground the antenna, do I just solder something like a 12 gauge wire to the ground on the antenna and run to the chassis?
Still open to suggestions and tips on the headliner install...
