Moving Company Life

You are one of very few that take pride in your work in your end if the industry. Keep up the good work. Make sure to remind your boss how valuable you are on a regular basis. I never said they were "All Criminals", but, you must admit that bedbuggers in general have less than a stellar reputation. I applaud you for running counter to that image.

 

There are literally 200 videos on You Tube of criminal and scam movers, there's a consumer advocate in my area that averages 3 calls a week from people scammed by moving companies, there are moving brokers, almost all based in Fla., that scam people on the daily. That you are trying to be a step above, professional, I commend you, but I can tell you from dealing with HHG monthly for the last 24 yrs, you are in the minority. I just had one this week that we picked up loaded from a residence for export. The resident has already departed the U.S. for Germany, the movers came out and loaded the can, 40' container, 3/4 full, they forgot to bring lumber to build the bulkhead, instead they used rope and packing tape to hold a couple mirror boxes in place. When I arrived the can was still open, when I walked back to my truck to grab my phone, they closed and sealed it before I could snap a pic.. I guarantee a weeks pay, there will be damage claims on it.

That's funny. At United they will pay a claim before they even talk to the driver! You even have a year to file the claim. That being said it is true there are some shady companies out there and they do make the most noise but not all moving companies are like that.

 

We don't use pups but do have containers called SAM ( storage and Move)

 

Anyone interested in this topic should read the book The Long Haul by Finn Murphy. He was a bedbugger most of his life and way back in the day. Very interesting book available at Audible.

 

I drove for Stryker Medical out of Kalamazoo for a few years delivering there beds.
Hospitals , Clinics , Rest Homes it was a nightmare to say the least.
Props to you Bed Buggers can't imagine pulling into the inner city and unloading in the street with a 53 Kentucky.
