So a few weeks back a company called me saying i could come in and fill out an application. a few minutes later they emailed me saying i actually lived too far. They want someone to live 35 to 45 mins away at most. I live about 54 mins away. Now would it be weird to call them back and say i would be willing to move if i got the job? or that im even willing to live out of a motel until i find a place? i see that the job still hasn't been filled. What do you guys think?

What kind of position is it? Otr, regional or local?
If it’s otr doesn’t really matter if you’re 3-4 hours away. As you’d be away from home 3 weeks at a time anyway. Regional ehh..I mean making that drive every few days wouldn’t be worth it ... local... forget about itRideandrepair and slow.rider Thank this. -

Some guys where I work live an hour away from the terminal. I lived in a hotel for a few months before. It’s really expensive compared to an apartment so don’t do it for too long.
Rideandrepair, Capacity and slow.rider Thank this. -
Is this a dream job Mack? What are they offering?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.
Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.Rideandrepair and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
I did that for a spell, couple times, actually. An hour is a bit much. Falling asleep on the way home, car trouble, the last thing you want to F with after a long day. Commuting is for the birds, total waste of time, and I had other things that needed to be done. Many times, in a rural setting, like I was, I HAD to commute, and many don't have a choice.
Rideandrepair, QuietStorm, Cowboyrich and 4 others Thank this.
