With these new trucks how do you keep these things running efficient I know on my truck now I change my oil 7500 miles like clock work I am local. But she works like clock work got the cat 3406e 525 hp. Really hate to watch her go away do to this capitalist bs. But if you want to be near family you do what you do...

Start with the IMAP sensor.. Intake manifold air pressure. If it is full of soot ... Clean or replace it, it takes no more than a few min. You will need 10mm socket. This is the first sensor on drivers side... It will tell you how dirty the egr valve is, the IMAP will not throw codes but will hurt performance and mileage.

Capitalist bs? What? Federal regulation forced engine manufacturers to put this garbage on their engines.
That's the exact opposite of capitalism.
Couple quick definitions for you: capitalism, federal and state governments stay out of the way of businesses and let them run their companies how they see fit, producing products on which ever way they want. Socialism, lots of government over sight, regulations and committees telling companies what they can and can not make while taxing the Crap out of everyone.

Have you considered a dpf retrofit to your current truck? With your horsepower plan on about 18K for a quality job, you'll be CA compliant til 2023 and escape a whole lot of BS. The complexity of the newer trucks is just plain scary to me, and I don't just mean the emissions. Peterbilt has been trying to figure out why my sleeper A/C won't work for a month. Is there anyone on the planet that can explain multiplex wiring?

But with the retrofit is it a lot to retrofit or not much ? I thought about it but some just said stay away because it hurts the engine that was not made for it... Don't know how true... Actually I wonder how many people actually had retrofitted..... Thank you
