Ok... Is it just me or are those slack adjusters attached to the brake can rod backwards?? Once they are rotated up into thier proper position the adjusting lever will be toward the brake can... Opposite the hole in the clevis where they are supposed to be.

How in the ever living hell does someone not catch that before it even leaves the shop? And if a "mechanic" just did the annual and didn't catch that... The "mechanic" needs to be fired!

The weight of the slack adjuster rotated the entire pushrod and plunger inside the pot.

Might be something that you just smile and do yourself and make sure you include an extra hour or 2 on your time card for dealing with DF’s

You have to pull the wheels? I always thought getting the wheels off the ground by chaining the axle was enough.

I've only had axle chained up once (tire guy didn't tourqe the lug nuts, got 30 miles down the road and they came loose and started oblonging the holes). Mechanic tried just chaining the axle up but couldn't get the tires on the other side to stay clear. Every bump on the road it would graze the pavement and jerk the trailer. We ended up taking the tires off both sides.

Maybe he didn't chain it up right, but I think it was the spring ride causing the issue.

There is no Flying J in Turlock, California. Was it Flying J north of Bakersfield, Merced road exit? That's the only FJ with a service center on site.
