Moving to Albany New York to start a new trucking job

Being from Comiefornia, the people part of the culture shock may not be too hard to get used to. Weather right now is real nice, that starts to go downhill rapidly come October. Saratoga area is nice. But many places are if you stay away from the city areas. There is a lot of rural areas just outside of Albany. (I'm 25 min away and live in the woods across from a dairy farm). You'll be fine. If you get tired of over the road. It's not hard to get a job this time of year around here. Good drivers that can pass a drug test are in somewhat of a demand around here

 

The company is hiring in the Albany area, but is telling you that you need to find a place to park their truck? They have no yard in the area? If they did, you could take your personal car home when you get there, and when at work, leave it at that yard ... Do you really want to take responsibility of leaving a company truck in a truck stop unattended while you are home? I always left mine at the company yard even though the boss said I could take it home - I don't want ANY liability if someone does something stupid to the truck while I am off ...
