Hello I’m trying to figure out something I keep seeing when looking for owner operator jobs.

first off I want to get a daycab truck and maybe lease on with a company but in 2020 I have to red light tickets and a failed to yield ticket which put 4 points on my license.

when I look at job posting it says no moving violations in the past 3 years. My question is well I have to wait till 2023 for the 3 year to lapse or … ?

it maybe a dumb question but I’m just confused.

You should contact the safety/recruiting department of where you may be interested in working. Nobody here can tell you if another company will hire you or not. Not only that but most of these decisions are made by the insurance company. Sad but it's true trucking companies don't even have the last say in who they can hire or not. As far as the three years goes, most driving records only go back for 3 years. So if your ticket date is within that time frame it will show.

A good reminder to people who haven’t gotten a ticket yet. Is to always always always hire a lawyer and let them contest the citation.
Never ever plead guilty and never try to contest it yourself .
A lawyer or ticket clinic can almost always get a citation reduced or dismissed .
