Was reading the thread about Prime and was wondering has anybody been
ever let go for not achieving the required MPG as far as any of you know.
That seems really harsh to tell a driver to maintain a certain mpg or else.
What is the safest speed you want to maintain in order to avoid being let go.
And most important if they were to let you go how will it show up on your DAC? Can you get a job with another company still with that info on your DAC? or will you have to sit out for an extended period of time?

I'm a lease driver so I'm not bound by the MPG requirements, but I'll answer what I know. From what I know the required MPG you have to get is 6.75, Prime does recognize that you can have a crappy week weather wise or weight wise, so the policy is if you fall under 6.75 for 3 consecutive weeks, and there is no mechanical issue with your truck, that you can no longer be a solo company driver.
As far as speed goes I have a 2009 Cascadia, and my MPG averages about 7.35 going between 55-58, and I would get 6.75 if I went about 61 all the time.

Yes...but they are all running to the house. It's the holidays.
Most companies that fire someone over fuel economy, that actually put something on your DAC. Simply put failed to follow company policy. Not sure if this is Prime's policy though...I don't work there.
And yes, many companies are extremely anal about fuel economy. Just ask in the Covenant forum about drivers being charged for fuel used while idling.
