Slow down. I assume your truck is not equipped with an apu. If you are being called and warned about your fuel consumption tell them to put you in a hotel and then you wont have to idle because of temperature issues!

Just curious, but do you also have out of route miles? I'm running Texas regional and idle some days more than I drive, my mpg hadn't been mentioned thus far. Of course temps exceeding triple digits before the heat factor I'd even brought into it might also be part of the reason. Its already 80 with a heat index of 88 at 10am

Go work for a carrier that is more concerned about you getting a good night's sleep than the cost of their truck idling because they don't equip it with modern technology!

if you switch to the freight side instead of truckload you can be home daily and make 6-900 take home weekly

Shift at lower rpm's, use cruise at 61 or 62, turn truck off when you go into the store, turn it off when you bump a dock and go for a walk. Turnn it off when you wake up until it is time to pull out. That's the coolest part of the day. I assume you are doing all those things right and more based on your answers above. Get that truck to the shop.
