I see.
Fibreglass is not plastic, but that revelation aside, like most people, when I speak of "plastic" trucks, I am referring to trucks with aero fairings and mirrors etc like the T2000 and all the others. In my experience they just don't hold up as well. Does this mean the W900 and T800 are built better than a T2000? Maybe. Or maybe the driver of the W900 takes better care of the truck than the driver of the T2000.
I'm inclined to think there's a reason you rarely see a T2000 dump truck.
mpg VS cost of repairs?

But, as you said, a plastic truck is one with all aerodynamic pieces that are prone to getting broke, and I was nitpicking.rank Thanks this. -
That being said, I understand that that's what people mean by plastic. I was nitpicking.rank Thanks this. -

Day to day, one must communicate quickly and efficiently with as many folks as one expects to deal with... save the scientific definitions for those who have a genuine need to use them.
####. how did this thread on buying new vs used and the effect mpg has on that decision for a 2 truck fleet get so sidetracked?!? lol
our local KW is okay... albeit pricey. we'll probably go for the most reliable/affordable truck we can get... which is looking like a freightliner Cascadia and a DD15 or DD13.
if you lease from a dealer isn't that like a car where you return at the end of the leasing period? couldn't you then negotiate even lower payments if you agree to limit the miles you put on it?Bean Jr. Thanks this. -

My 2003 W900L had a plastic (ABS) hood straight from the factory. My 2000 W900L had fiberglass.
