I have a very small company. I have 3 2007 Volvo VNL670's with Volvo motors. The fuel mileage in all 3 is horrible. They probably average 5.0 mpg. Doe anybody out there do better with their Volvos?

There's a lot of variables involved with fuel mileage. You might want to list what you are hauling, where you're hauling it, transmissions, rear end ratios, normal driving conditions ect.

Check out this thread. It is a little long but worth reading. Your not the only one that has problems with those junk motors. Also use the serch button there are a couple other threads on here about this issue.

Yeah with 50 mph(around 90km) is possible, here 65-70 should be in mid 6's

As stated earlier, a lot of variables. But I have a 780 pulling dry van and just did a load with 45k in the box. First 400 miles on average roads with 30+MPH cross winds, driving 55-60 was showing 5.3. Final leg of 200 miles with not winds and more hills brought my whole trip average to 5.8. But I drive slow, see no need to grab 5 gears coming out of a truck stop, run an APU, etc.
If you rule out an engine issue I would look at driver habits. I see a lot of company drivers that never shut the egine off. -
I was averaging 8mpg, since we changed my fuel filters a month ago, I'm getting 9.6mpg!!!!...I drive a 2005 Volvo with ALL Red Cummins...

He's asking about VOLVO MOTORS not cummins.
