Hello.I'm wondering what a deference would be in MPG between city and hwy driving. For example 4.5mpg city and 6.5mpg hwy driving .Is it sounds right or not.I'm talking about the big rigs of course and rough estimate of mpg.

It depends on the type of city driving, if you ran so you made most lights, it would be pretty good, if you stop at every one it will be terrible. Some trailers pull harder than others and speed makes them worse. It also depends on how fast you drive on the highway. When I was running a Cummins with a 9 speed there was very little difference unless I kept it under 55 on the highway.
Timed lights are pretty easy in light traffic, the smart lights are hard. Those change whenever someone approaches from a side road.
Heavy traffic with heavy loads makes highway use higher as well, you need to change speed often to keep safe distances from other vehicles.
