I live in Quincy, illinois(midwest). I recieved an acceptance letter from MTI & haven't heard hardly anything bad about them. My question is do I live in a good place to work for MTI, hows the hometime for where I live? I'm already in school here in Quincy(jwcc) & I graduate 8/6/09. What affect will this have with m,y training & oreientation if I go with MTI? How long is the oreintation, how long with a trainer? Waiting to hear from a recruiter. Any info would be a great help guys.

King Ding Dong,
I'm a driver with Millis Transfer. I've been with the company now for about 9 months. MTI is their school, its not the company. Last that I knew of, if you attend another school (not Millis) you have to get one year experience before they will hire you. If you where to attend MTI (millis school) the classes are 3 weeks and out with a trainer 5-8 weeks. As far as home time for your location, its the same for everybody. 7 days out 36 hrs home. You can stay out as long as you want, but for every 7 days you get 36 hrs. I chose to be out 3-4 weeks at a time and take 4-5 days off at the end. As far as living in Quincy Il. your in the hire area, but dont know the load situation in that area. If you still have questions, by all means contact a recruiter. Best of luck in school and with your new career choice. -
Thanks for the help Sketch. I'm enrolled in school now & have talked with MTI. They said it doesn't matter, that I would still have to go through their schools as well & personally I think it wouldn't be worth it, repeating what I've already learned you know. If you have any thoughts on another Co. close by with good home time it'd be a big help. Thanks again
