Howdy folks. Yup been MIA. Just life getting in the way sort of. Working hard, giving my hard earned $$ to uncle sam. Talked to Guss last week so I know he's alive unless that was a zombie....
So here's the deal. Ya'll are pretty smart, no don't get the big head now. I am fighting a mythological heartless demon named Air Leak and he has been kicking everyones ### to the moon and back. We have sprayed soapy water, dye in air line antifreeze behind the air dryer, changed air tanks, compressor, regulator, dryer, all manner of parts and fittings but no joy. The truck and trailer BOTH leak down to zip in a matter of hours. I am at the point of setting a fire to something...... So I would appreciate ALL suggestions unless they are just stupid.

Always a good idea to have a spare boot and a couple of clamps in case you have a failure out on the road.

too bad you cant smoke test it like plumbing on a big industrial job . Well i guess you could if you can drop smoke bomb in an air tank and retrieve . Smoke would travel with Air movement through the leak. Just a thought .

Find a shop with a smoke machine. It works just as @broke down plumber suggested. Have them plumb in behind the dryer.

it’s a dumb thing to say but flip your trans to high when parking to see if that makes a difference. Also kinda lift the frame with a jack to raise the air bags then air them manually. That takes some plumbing but I have seen some air bag pedestals leak and be a booger to find cause the air bag rolls under them.

We must think alike. I have a ziplock bag of various sized old clamps I changed in the past.

Have you tried parking with the red valve pulled out to see if that makes any difference?

@JolliRoger , you were talking the other day about skinny Kentucky roads.
This was my Friday afternoon delivery near Lancaster Kentucky.
You know it’s gonna be good when the farmer tells you, “you better swing as wide as you can on a couple of those corners, cause I drop my 28’ gooseneck in the ditch if I don’t.”
I was north of 90k with a load of freshly treated fence posts. It was coming a torrential downpour on the way in, and I was pretty busy driving, so these pictures are on the way back out empty.
1.5 miles of that skinny, crooked little road back to a beautiful 200 acre farm.
Super nice young guy owns it.

Can’t do much cheating on the corners when it’s 6’ down into the creek, soaking wet, and there are bridge abutments to contend with.

Don't know if there are any Peterbilt fans on this thread (kidding), but this sweet 1980 359 standard hood was at my first stop. It's a 3406b with a 15 speed against the dash.

He says he is stretching it to 265 WB. He is looking for an original style air filter cannister for the passenger side if @wore out knows of any.
