I'm not really new, but I have a couple newbie questions... first thing is... if regular chains didn't get me out of the mud earlier, would "mud chains"? I don't think I do enough driving in the mud to justify mud tires. Also... I'm tired of the hemorrhoids, what can I do?
mud chains/seat cushions?

Two types of chains I've seen. Could be more could be less and I'm hallucinating. First you have the round cheap ones you pick up at the hook. Those are great for the highway when "chains are required" the others look like your normal chains but the links are square. That's what I've always heard referred to as mud chains. They work well and are typically lighter. The secret is to put the chains on before you get stuck

In regards to where I unload in the mud, the last couple times I took a couple shovel fulls of the dry dust I haul and packed it in under the tires, it worked like a charm I pulled right out.Numb Thanks this. -
