Indeed. I saw a trooper follow a truck for about a mile, and once the mudflap sailed up to 10 inches, hit the disco balls and pulled him over.
Mud flap question...is legal?

Geez what fun, he sure didn't have nothing better to do it sounds like. I guess the thing that needs to be done then is to make sure you carry some sort of weights to put on it also. -
That was a cop that was looking for something else. I got stopped once by a state trooper who got up on my passenger side and when I asked what was up he said nothing, he just wanted to look at my logbook. I just looked at him then laughed and he laughed and told me he was bored sitting in the medium. We talked a couple of minutes and he never did see my log.

Yeah, I can see it happening a lot with older trucks. They're just looking for a reason to stop you for an inspection.
-
Delivery made with no issues. When I got there they asked me if I wanted to switch to d&h. I said hell yeah and now I don't even have to watch my clock tick away in the shop
-
Yeah, just pawn it off on someone else, like all other lazy truckers.
-
How nice of you to make assumptions. What an ignorant statement.
I did what I was supposed to do. I tried to get get it fixed...was told wait till I am empty. Delivery was changed to a d&h so I let road service know about the change.
But of course if you used reading is fundamental skills you would hve already known that.
Of course you are saying you would have waited around a day maybe 2 and wait for them to empty the trl then hook back up and take it to the shop.
Is that what you are saying supertrucker? -
How do you know that's the reason he was stopped?
-
You're right. There is no way to know that was the exact reason he was stopped. It could have been a number of things. However, he wasn't speeding and had no obvious securement issues. So, it was safe to assume that after being followed for a mile or so when the mudflap sailed clearly above the legal requirement, that was the reason for getting stopped...NavigatorWife Thanks this.

That's exactly what I'm saying. You do know that shops probably wont charge you just to put a torch to a piece of metal, right? Take them about 5 minutes to heat it up, then use their super human strength to bed it back into place. Since you dropped it, it would have probably sat a little while before being reloaded. Already gone from everyone's mind.
