Multi Lane Roundabouts Right of Way Two Trucks

Unless you are in michigan, I think people are drunk when they pick these locations. We have two of the worst roundabouts, one is at 14 mile road and Orchard lake road in W Bloomfield and the other is at State and Elsworth in Ann Arbor. Both of these intersections have the highest accident rate of any other intersection, both of them are in very high traffic areas and both of them are confusing to navigate. The 14 mile road intersection also has lights bear it to control the flow of traffic into another intersection where Northwestern and Orchard Lake meet which creates more of a backup. It is just like the idiotic X intersections that pop up now, it is a waste of space and the traffic still flows the same.

Now there is another problem, in this area, we have a few small roundabouts, and these are not truck usable, one of them is at Moon and Bemis. I have sat for 20 minutes waiting for a truck trying to get unstuck when he made a left turn which he could not make, another one ran over the center and hit a car which blocked the intersection for an hour.

 

I treat them all like a one lane. 4 ways on and I’m taking the whole darn thing and watching mirrors closely for fools. Aint nobody got time for staying in one lane on a roundabout. They usually have very soft curbs on the inside so I’ll bite into that if needed as well.

As others have said. Wait for nobody coming, especially another truck for gods sake, and dont hit anything is all you need to do.
