You know what, I think you are right about that. The temp was in the 40s when I went into St Louis but by the time I was in Rolla area where this all happened it was in the high 20s. Temp dropped fast with the cold front but the ground was still warm.

It doesn’t take much in those conditions for bridges to flash freeze, and I’m sure it caught all of those folks off guard, even though they should’ve known better.

I'm actually amazed thats the only Prime related truck I've seen in any of the pictures. Our main terminal is right off 44 in Springfield and I saw a lot of our trucks headed east as I went west.

Thanks ...cold roads good in cold temps with snow .
Warm roads in cold bad with snow .
    ..ice .
That's why 80 across Iowa turns into a junkyard in snow ..road usually warm with cold air and turns to ice .
94 across North Dakota is a cold road with cold temps ..much less slick .

    crocky and HalpinUout Thank this.

What that girl did was about the dumbest thing she could've possibly did.

I disagree, if that truck would have hit her square, she’d have been toast. I’d have jumped the hell out too.

I think these videos should be part of all cdl training and orientations ...shutting down is not about your skill level if by some dumb stroke of bad luck you are in the wrong place wrong time and end up in the middle or behind one of these wrecks you are at the mercy of everyone behind you that might not be paying attention ....I still remember that big one in Wyoming a few years back where people just kept running into the back of it for what seemed like forever
