Well my friend there's lots of light bulky freight that cubes out way before it scales out .
    Empty beverage containers...etc .
I dont do dry anymore but I even see temp controlled freight that cubes out .

Most of the stuff coming into (and out) of the warehouse I work out of have less than 6" for inside clearance.
Heck, there is a fair few trucks coming in that are an 18" drop deck van.

That stretch right through there is really a bad place when the wind blows... The way the terrain is it creates a natural wind tunnel.... Easy breezy one second... Then BAM!!! Big gust slams you to the side the next second.

It was kind of hairy yesterday taking an mt reefer to Dubuque on 52 and 136 to US 20.

The trees were really moving around alot, too. The August thunderstorms tend to have gusty winds.

Exactly what I had in 2006 i believe. Just blink and truck with doubles was sunk in muddy median. Was able to keep it strait. In 15 - 30 seconds weather was clear and calm. IHP patrol asked me how did i get there. Can't answer. Then other officer came with message it was registered micro tornado in this area.
The best thing is it was truck laying across interstate on his side just 100 yards front of me and I didn't seen him. So tornado saved my butts.

Yeah that aint no ####... We had one of our drivers get blown over in Livingston this last winter... Westbound, right there where you come round the bend and drop to cross the river... Wipes out a good chunk of the guard rail.

Once upon a time, back when I first started and was dragging a 53' van around, some rolls of paper would barely make it through the door. Maybe 1.5" of clearance. Those big square bales of hay take up a lot of room, too.
