    I'd guess that 70% of my loads need the height, but only 40% need that last 5 feet. I woukd happily go back to 48 footers.

    I think the side skirts would actually increase stability. It disrupts the air flow coming underneath. But who really knows?

    High cube is not the problem. People not slowing down is the problem.

    Wind starts whipping like that slow down IMMEDIATELY.
    I've driven in 70mph gusts through Colorado empty or near empty and didn't have issues.

    We load double stacked frozen Gaylords all night they double stack them on the dock and then push them in to avoid roof or chute damage , a load of diapers here are floor to ceiling , front to back and your lucky if you can get the doors closed the first time.

    Yes.. I haul furniture, and it's cubed out nose to tail for the most part.
    General freight, if we grab something coming home that's not more furniture to distribute, is mostly chest high.
