I've often walked from one room to another and completely forgotten the purpose for the exercise

I’ve already forgotten what this thread was about, but just noticed my four ways are still on after parking an hour ago.

He didn't say the truck was rusted out and held together with duct tape and bailing wire. So doubtful a Yooper. :)

My father used to say that is "being in the hereafter."
What the he## am I here after??
He would go back to where he was working,
    and say, "oh, that's it!"
But he was 89 years old.

    x1Heavy and HoneyBadger67 Thank this.

Just the usual steering wheel holder. I do a quick look around every time the truck stops for a break. Someone hits you even if it’s their fault their lawyer can argue they couldn’t see you because your lights weren’t operating properly. Sometimes if I have tons on my mind or I’m somewhere new and trying to read the signs I’ll forget the cancel the turn signals but most I ever had it going without noticing is probably a minute after the fact.

I don't know how a driver dont notice his turn signal is still one. It's an aggravating sound and in these new trucks, it is louder than ever!

When I got my first new truck, the first thing I swore I'd disable was the beeper for the turn signal. That thing drove me nuts, but I could never find the beeper. So I learned to live with it.

As I've gotten older and more forgetful, I realize it's not a bad thing. This was confirmed one night while driving one of our older trucks. I must have driven two miles or more with the turn signal on. Fortunately there was nobody around to see it.

This morning I woke up at a PFJ north of Salt Lake City and the guy next to me did a typical steering wheel holder pre-trip. He didn't do one. Started his truck, dumped his piss cup on the ground, and off he went. I finished my pre-trip and hopped on the freeway, and there he sat on the shoulder just a few hundred yards away with a flat drive tire. I chuckled just a little bit.
