Mine are tilted a little and have still managed to last a year with obvious wear issues. Does the entire contraption need replaced or is it normally just the black pulley that needs replaced. Thanks in advance.

The tensioner itself is worn at the pivot. They go crooked often and have a very short life span.

So guess I'll be buying two tensioners. I believe the dealer said the bigger one was like $300 or that might have been for the pair. Thanks for the comeback

EPA 2010 MX- Tensioner bolts through a separate bracket that has an idler pulley mounted, and as an assembly is mounted to the front of the engine. I'm guessing they assume one is indicative of the other (aluminum) and certainly makes them money. The alternative though can be costly if it were to come apart at highway speed.

    insanityeight Thanks this.
