I bought a Harley (89 Heritage) from a ticked of wife while her husband was deployed once. I have felt a little guilty about that for a long time. A little. It was a sweet bike at a VERY GOOD PRICE. LOL

I was trying to preempt someone from saying "if you overdrive the blower, you'll have boost", so I said at the gear ratio used. I don't presume to know of anybody overdriving the blower ON a Jimmy.

I actually picked up on the careful wording. It was a well-qualified statement. LOL

I re-read your post. I see what you're saying. I haven't messed around with blowers in an automotive application. Mainly in industrial.

I think they do run them on overdrive on dragsters.
Big Mike did something that looks like 10 or 9 or something 6v71s on a v16 71. If you've seen it looks all show, no go. I'll post a "dyno test" video.

I don't know if it holds true in that specific application, but it's very common to purchase underdrive pulleys for Roots-style blowers in GM automotive applications. So, unless you'll be overloading a lubrication system, I don't see why it couldn't be done with this??

Wonder if I could make that fit in my W900A? Pretty good Bon Jovi cover in there too.

Fortunately, Detroit Diesel blowers aren't driven by pulleys and belts. So overdriving or underdriving the blower is MUCH more complicated. As stated by @NorthernMechanic it would require a machine shop.

It think for this guy putting together a twin turbo 8v71 would be much less complicated and certainly less expensive, especially when I have this little stash. IMG_0878.JPG
which, when assembled looks like this

    Modifications included it's much simpler.
