I paid off my first truck in early January and parked it. It was just always breaking down and I had enough. I eventually traded it in for my current truck and got that on the road in mid-march. There were some issues with that truck which kept it a frequent flyer at the shop until mid-April. So the first 4 months I made nothing, and couldn't even begin paying myself until Sept because I was playing catch-up with bills. My net is down by approximately $20k over 2017.
*added up most of the maintenance costs and adjusted numbers accordingly.
My 2018 numbers as an Independant.

Seems like alot of the ic's at superior have had a string of bad luck lately. Talked to a few the past few weeks and everyone's had issues with there rigs. Do you have a break down of maintenance you have done?
bigguns Thanks this. -
How many miles would you have driven if you were running all year?
Is $1.90 a mile what you could could expect pulling tanker?bigguns Thanks this. -
$1.90 is very doable, last year I did $1.93/mi all miles. Part of the reason my numbers were so low for 2018 is that while my truck was in the shop I would use a company vehicle. That rated me at basicaly a company driver, something like .52/mi.bigguns, ChicagoJohn and Weeble Kneeble Thank this. -

$235,000 gross
$144,000 total expenses.
$91,000 net.
Within the expenses is literally everything.
$6400 in "truck supplies"
$49,000 fuel
$29,600 in repairs
$30,000 in W2 wages to myself
$1900 plates
$850 tolls
$4600 insurance.
There's a lot on not listing, but those are the big ones. I left tanking in Oct and started pulling a dump. Up to that point I was around $210,000. I Did exactly 105,500 miles, so year average $2.227 rpm. I know going from tanker to dump my dual mileage plummeted. I was averaging 7-7.25, I'm now averaging 5.4-5.8. First week of Feb I'm back to pulling tanks.Last edited: Jan 22, 2019
