Blah, blah, blah. Not everyone has the discipline and drive it takes to achieve anything. A few people do. Some of them even drive trucks. Imagine that...

Well i left willis shaw express last month and keep in touch with some old friends from there like my trainer who has been there for 15years , he finally moved on to a new company as well they cut his miles to nearly half and cant even get him home on top of that, so he called me and ensured me that leaving was probaly a smart thing. but never the less miles still suck and they are still sitting and the only thing positive to say if you consider it positive is they have been investing in new mack trucks but again they are Macks so take it as you will, All I can say is im glad im gone and looking forward to my next journey

I agree with you. good luck in your next endeavor be it truck'n or not.

Thanks it will be in a truck for US xpress to gain some more experience before I go with a more responsive company for the long term but just want miles for now

This Mike dude acts like he was trying to pick a fight with some of the more experienced truckers on here at the beginning of the thread. Also the guy that put on here about how bad grammar bothers him. I feel you man! haha It bothers me when I see people switch up there and their or spell does like this: dose. I am sure someone will pick something out of this I spelled wrong for saying this but atleast I try.
The way Mike describes WSE sounds just like a company I drove for. Although I stuck it out for a year because I did not want to jump around from company to company. Looks bad on your record. Rookies should definitely listen and learn from older drivers because you may actually learn something instead of trying to criticize someone for making a comment.
I played poker with a WSE driver one day during a hurricane in 08' at a BJ's warehouse in Jax, FL. He seemed very happy with the company other than his truck only went like 61 or 62. Well Good luck in finding that company that is going to get you 3500 miles every week and give you a brand new 2011 truck with only 3 months experience. Let me know if you find it because I need a better paying job too! -
all I asked for was more than 1500 miles a week. I wouldnt care what kind of truck they put me in or how much they paid me per mile just wanted to make it worth being away from my family and bring my checking account back in the positive status. I sat down with my dispatcher and planner and we figured out that I averaged 228 miles a day since I have been with them. thats horible and I cant believe anyone can make a living off that. this was my main beef with the company they are a smaller company but dont have the accounts that they use to, This was said by the planer so I left. I had a family to support and my self to support on the road as well. Just couldnt take it any more. I left on good terms because I dont like burning bridges, and still talk to a lot of the guys and half of them arent with the company any more as well. Bottom line an observation from the new guy is that they have a high turn over rate just like werner and other big companies that hire new grads you just dont hear about it because they are a smaller CO. some will say its a good thing and some will say its a bad thing take it how you will. I dont mind people cracking on my spelling and gramer because 90% of what I post is via my phone , I will make sure to use spell check for now on when posting so I dont Afend any one hahah

That is Offend...
j/k dont get you panties in a bunch.
IT is going to get a lot rougher before it gets better. With the economy as it is, and on an express elevator to hell I imagine a few for trucking companies are gonna pull an Arrow. -
You wouldn't care if you were in a broken down heap of junk? I would.
You wouldn't care if they paid you .02 per mile if you had at least 1500 miles per week? What, would you make more $$$ than earning .25 for 228 miles?
Point 2:
No trucking company has the accounts they 'used' to, because so many businesses have closed in the past couple years. DUH!!! The economy is in a deep slump right now, in case you haven't noticed.
And because your planner told you this, you quit. ?
Point 3:
You really think you left on 'good' terms?

Good luck to ya Mike. Hope the new job gets the bills paid. It seems that many of the postings on this forum go from riffing on a bad company to riffing on the OP. We need to start a "report a bad spellar thread"!
