They don't mind tolls that I know of. I'm sure they'll prefer 80/322 in PA, etc., but they didn't mention anything about tolls.
You can use your own GPS. They just want the route to be direct and within reason. For example, since I was a fresh rehire, dispatch just reminded me to avoid 70 west of Denver, but said its up to me to run south to I-40 or 80/15 to get to CA.

Heat took it's toll on some folks in Primm, NV today. Handful of tire victims and the truck stop power went out mid fueling lol.
Got my second load preplan this morning. Picking up in Tulare, CA tomorrow and going to Woodburn, IN. Nice little 2300 mile run to make progress on for the next 3-4 daysCorsairFanboy, Speed_Drums, JForce28 and 5 others Thank this. -
Woodburn.....a nice place to visit.Thrasher28 and bryan21384 Thank this.

That’s a great run! Sounds like they’re starting you out strong. I went from Sioux City to Fort Dodge today and good God US-20 might as well be called Schuster Expressway. Mostly dry vans as well.Speed_Drums, bryan21384 and Thrasher28 Thank this.

Schuster and Decker seems to be every other vehicle on 20 lol. Especially on the weekends when the Bomgaars and regional guys are headed home. Sure beats running 80, at least.
How's the truck stop in Holstein looking now? I heard they taken over by TA as an express location. Wasn't sure if anything changed other than the fact showers are probably more expensive nowbryan21384 and motocross25 Thank this. -
Yep it’s a TA you’re right. I didn’t stop, but the typical truck stop shenanigans looked to be going on there. What’s your load out of Cali is it another ice cream?bryan21384 Thanks this.

Yessir. Was a dry load to get here, so I'm delivering here in Bakersfield a few hours early to get started on the precool. Hoping to get it down to temp before it's 110 out. All so I can back in their dock and leave with it reading 43 degrees this afternoon lmaobryan21384 and motocross25 Thank this.

Yea dude I know the struggle! In my reefer days I got a load out of Dyersburg TN for Battle Creek MI and my dispatcher told me it was a dry load. EVEN AFTER I expressed my concerns that it was picking up from an AmeriCold and delivering to an ice cream warehouse. “It must be like cones or packaging maybe.” Is what I was told. Wrong. I got there at 1 pm with 84 degrees and it was quite awhile before that sucker saw -20.
Speed_Drums, Thrasher28, wulfman75 and 2 others Thank this. -
Week 1 update: Totaled out to 3922 miles on my first 70 hour cycle. Sitting here in Brazil, IN knocking out a 34 and then running it the rest of the way on Thursday morning. Not all weeks will work out this well, but it's a solid start anyways.
Truck has done great so far, as expected for a new truck. Trailer has done well also. Able to hold steady at temp in low speed now that I'm out of Satan's armpit lol, so it's nice and quiet. Carriers never bothered me, but TK's do have a nice steady hum in comparison.
The ESmart governing system actually works pretty seamlessly. California was a slow ride, but not super noticeable otherwise. I just set the cruise on 70 and use the 2mph extra to step out and pass someone when needed.
JOHNQPUBLIC, CorsairFanboy, A_C_Cooper and 6 others Thank this.
