Well, by the time I retire, I'll have about 36 years driving in, that will be enough for me. Retirement sounds pretty good.
my 7 year son old is begging me to take him to "take your child to work day"

The day I actually did my last 45 back to park my truck after parking it I had to go through downtown Atlanta. I was getting together with some friends for a few beers that night. I stopped in the Atlanta petro and got some coffee. The looked outside and told all the entire trucking world to go (sorry @MACK E-6) (insert bad word here) themselves. Finished that cup and had another. Then wrote some really nasty comments in my logbook about the DOT. Then headed on out to where we had that nights party. Retirement is GREAT.JReding Thanks this.

Yes it will been there been that irritating brat.

i am lucky never had a run in with the DOT, i have really only done local driving and my boss sets up the routes AROUND the DOT when possible. i cant say i dont blame him. the trucks are legal but the DOT is just a pain in the ###. its not about safety, its about fines. if they want to find something..... they will.

Glad you enjoy driving now, I used to be the same way, now not so much.... I'm not much older than you but after 12 years in the seat im only so so on it. If I can last another twelve that will do it for me, I'll call it quits semi retire and pick up a job doing something with cars that I actually enjoy.
