First Trip (Charlotte, NC to Reno, NV to Sacramento, CA)
Started the day at 9am truck was ready from maintenance. My partner and I did a thorough inspection of the tractor and didn't get our load assignment until 11:30am. We had to deadhead to Roadrunner (Charlotte, NC) to pick up a dry load and on the way there our oil pressure was fluctuating around 35psi. When we arrived at Roadrunner we contacted our maintenance crew. On our way to get scaled at a nearby CAT scale, a member of our maintenance team met us there to check our truck. Our truck checks out "fine", but in the meantime we're trying to pay for our CAT scale ticket and our Comdata card isn't working. We're currently sitting trying to get this card issue resolved. Well I'm supposed to be sleeping because I'm the night driver. Later!

First Trip (Charlotte, NC to Reno, NV to Sacramento, CA) continued.....
I got some well deserved rest after I drove from Nashville, TN to Kansas City, MO. My trainer drove from Kansas City, MO to Aurora, NE and we just finished showering and eating before he continues driving. I'm going to get a little more rest as I won't start driving for another 5 hours. -
Must be great to drive the country. Why am I so jealous?
amiller Thanks this. -

Exceptional post man. I've finally had a chance to read it. Well I've been had the time just never got around to it. Especially sitting at a shipper waiting nine hours to get loaded. But anyway, I'm am extremely happy for you and glad that you didn't get discouraged. (You know what I'm talking about). Keep the post coming man. My dog, my brother, my fellow brand new trucker!!!! The world better watch their rear view mirrors cuz here we come. LOL.

Just a quick update. I just finished driving 146 miles to Sacramento and I witnessed my first backing accident at a dock. A driver was too close to another trailer and he damaged his passenger trailer door as it was open and it scratched the trailer that was parked 1 spot over. That's not the worst part though. The driver that caused the accident is nowhere to be found and it is delaying us from getting unloaded

As stated in the above post, that driver was nowhere to be found but when the local police showed up he exited the truck. After the accident he hid in the sleeper of his truck and locked himself in. I guess he thought that he could just hide and that nobody would call the cops.....WRONG. Also the story became worse as the officer found out that he did not have a cdl, he gave him a fake license, and there was alcohol in the truck. I told my trainer that I thought these things only existed in drama movies lol. GUESS NOT!!!
I ended up running out of hours as this incident prolonged us from getting into the dock to get unloaded so I am "sleeping" right now lmao. I know that we already have our next assignment but I haven't bothered to read the specifics. I know it is a temp controlled load being picked up somewhere in California and we're taking it to Georgia. I'll get into the specifics on a later post. -
Wait they don't offer vacation pay even after 90 days?
