my Adventures at May Trucking

so the story begins I'm 32 and always wanted to drive truck but ,have always been pulled the other direction , I was laid off from my job in Nov. so I decided it was time so I picked out a CDL school and off I went . after I graduated from school I decided on May Trucking Co. due to there size and the reputation they have is 95% better then any other company that hires novices , if you talk to there drivers MOST are happy and have nothing but good things to say , so at 330 in the morning I got on the Grey dog bound for Phoenix for Orientation , when I arrived me and another new hire where picked up from the station and taken to the Hotel , after hearing horror stories I was pretty worried about the hotel but when we got there it was nice maybe because of our orientation size but i had a room to myself ,for me amenities are nice but the way your treated stands more strong with me as a new driver the next morning we arrived and where Greated by what I think is the Phoenix terminal manager who was super cool we did our paper work and pee in a cup then did our skills and drive test watched video's BUT the thing that really impressed me was the fact that everyone there was friendly , happy and helpful so that shoots day 1

well Day 2 of orientation is in the books finished the Employee reference manual , went to lunch at a nice Mexican restaurant today , got back did more paper work LOL finished early today , and dont have to be there until 8 tomorrow whoo hoo . I'm probably going to go to dinner with the other new hires tonight and maybe go to the pool , then tomorrow sometime I head out with a trainer may have to update y'all from my phone ... I'm excited but nervous .... oh well off to enjoy my afternoon

 

I was suppose to go to Brooks but they decided Phoenix was closer , it will be okay just remember when you do your drive test not to run the R.P.M's up to high lol I was use to driving a 10 speed so it took me a while to get use to the shift pattren keep in touch it will be cool to see what your up to

 

same with our class don't know what happened to the fourth guy


well talked to my trainer this morning found out we have a pre plan but its not leaving till Sun so I'm hanging out at the Hotel I might go jump in the pool I've been threatening it for day's but never do ...

 

well trainer got a PP for Colorado leaving at 5 am tomorrow so time to do laundry and re pack everything ....
