I go both ways on this, I recently interviewed with CR England for their intermodal division, running reefer containers based on in Denver. With my years of exp. I'll do alright pay wise, but equipment, meh, not so sure. Thinking I might be better off with a Wyile for flatbed or one of the other reefer can companies.
if you can get on england intermodal, jump on it.
im on intermodal out of mira loma cal. we pull specialty intermodal trailers fixed with satellite capabilities, office in slc can check fuel level, turn on and off the refer, adjust temp, all while on the rail. mostly out of and into bnsf san bernadino, we generally stay within the los angeles area, work about 10 to 12 hrs a day. home every night and off on the weekends. pay is call ring pay, based on the length of the haul. 0 to 30 miles so much, 30 to 60 and so on. my average take home pay has been well over $1,000 week. equipment is good 07 century day cab, that short little day cab can get me into some really tight spots. only draw back is th L A traffic.AfterShock Thanks this. -
