Yes three would be prefered but for financial start-up I have been told that 2 will get me going. If I need any at all. Some cutters supply trailer and you supply truck. One person that I went to school with and has been hauling logs here for more than 20 years has never owned a log trailer.

are they using the pole trailers like they are here where they break down when empty and you winch the rear tandems up on top of the truck?

The ones you are refering to are for Yankees.:biggrin_25513: I need the ones that are 4 bolster capable of poles or a 2x2 split 16'6" pulp.

I can't post a link to the trailers I am refering to but you can do a search for 1992 Clark in GA at truckpaper

Yeh I was jerkin Yer chain. :biggrin_2559: I think they use those in the N-west also. I had never seen them until I searched for log trailers and didn;t specify a state. I'd be hard pressed to pull one of those. Just something about a trailer that folds up. Just don't seem right :biggrin_25513:

I see one on truckpaper that has 8 bolsters and tri-axle super-singles. Made by stairs. Looks too pretty to drop timber on it. LOL

    Welcome to the post KingHunter
I haven't narrowed it down to a specific unit but I am looking at trucks spec'd with Cummins N14, or Detroit 12.7 Possibly a Cat 3406 but they scare me on the cost of parts, 400+ HP, 3.80-4.11 Rears, 9-18spd tranny and 40k rears. Curious why you ask. Have a truck for me? :biggrin_25519:

Day cabs by all means. too much extra wieght on a sleeper. plus backing under a ####ed trailer in the woods is bad enough with a cheater window. l0l:biggrin_25513: There are guys that do it and I could too but why? :biggrin_2559: Even with possible future plans to get a lowboy or DD and haul OS regional The ol'lady will be ready to take my logger and then I'll grab a sleeper.
