I dare say those would be quite rough. OTR neighbor just unloaded 4 good ones. He's semi-retired. So He hsa been unloading stuff lately. Probably could have gotten them delivered or at least close by. Woodville? You sure you don't wanna haul logs?:biggrin_25523:

If I wanted to haul logs I'd have to go to my uncle, my wifes uncle actually. He'd be mad if I didn't but I not one to mix business and family especially not close family. It just couldn't come out good in the end. Plus they work allot more than I like to. I'm not a morning person and they are in the woods at 4am.

Should ask what his take on 90's Macks is? Milage, power, etc. That 93 I saw on the truck paper looks to have been well cared for. E-mailed them for milage and gears. Should hear back monday or tuesday.

He is a mack guy. will only buy Macks. But he's been complaining left and right about all the ones he's had in the last 8 or 9 years. Nothing but problems and he NEVER had problems with the old ones. He gets rid of the trucks after 3 years which is kind of unheard of in logging. He has the nicest trucks you will see pulling logs. He is in semi retirement now and his son is buying kenworths now. So far he has a KW service truck and one KW log truck

Old schoolers all used Macks. Now you see Pete's and KW's which could be due to just country-boy ego around here. "HarHar I drive a PETE with a 550 CAT!! gulp gulp gulp gulp... Buuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp!, Spitouy!" :biggrin_2559:
Have been seeing a few new FL-Columbia's too. Thats probably for milage sakes. But they have Mercedes engines.. Imagine the maintenance cost.$$$$$:biggrin_25521:$$$$$$$:biggrin_25513:

When did that start? Since I an looking at pre 00's I should still be seeing true Macks? Down to thier level. hahaha I like that. gotta admit they have the aero figured out if nothing else. They seem to post some of the best milage with a cummins or detriot motor.

the volvo's are big, ride too soft (aka sloppy) actually the t600 is best and the freightliners are more aerodynamic than the volvo. Problem with volvo is all the electronics they have and they have lots of problems with it all
