Today's tolerance of infraction is what has my sparked my concern and worry - this why my post is what it is. I know the demand for driver is high, but nonetheless. I'll definitely check out Fox Valley for opportunities. Thanks for the suggestion.

Haha. Don't have it explode, who else will supply the much needed harsh criticism that people expect from online forums?

I misspoke. I will graduate from a program, a training course, one aimed obtaining for a Class A and Class B, I did not mean too imply I'd be earning both an A and B license - that is straight up, my bad.

Second, my worry was amplified as all the trucker I know, at the nicest, has spoke as 'Semi-Retired' has and not been all sunshine and daises optimistic... so yes, in a worrisome manner I posted here to get feedback from a much larger community.

Third, I'm already on the hunt of a traffic lawyer, and definitely looking for one that focuses on CDL and Transportation law as many has suggested!

Last, I'm not going to lie. I plan... or rather am, going to save all documentation related to the crash, police, court and insurance be fully prepared to talk, answer and be grilled about the accident. Don't you worry.

That's the spirit, but you're not going to suck out portable toilets, you have a better future on the horizon for yourself. I suppose, if you think a lawyer will do anything except drain your wallet, go for it, otherwise, spend that energy on finding a job, just move forward, and old rule of thumb, don't give any info unless asked. That way, you aren't lying. HO Wolding, Millis, Roehl, all good companies, will probably give you a shot. I mean, you didn't kill anyone. I'm sure lots of drivers have mishaps in cars, but are still good truck drivers. I think you'll be ok. Good luck.

Thanks for the words! Haha. Well, one lawyer I spoke too was realistic and said there's a 60/40 shot have it dropped to a non-moving violation and he'd just straight up charge a couple hundred. With tax refunds around the corner, I think it's worth a gamble. I may not say anything until asked but I'll certainly be prepared for it. Roehl is quite common in my area, I'll be sure to check out that suggestion. Thanks for all your feedback too sir. I do appreciate it.

I did almost all of my trucking in Wisconsin, so if you have any questions. Lot of outfits do intermodal out of Chicago, and you can do a lot of local stuff. I did that for 4 1/2 years as an O/O, but plenty of company trucks. Green Bay another good spot for trucking. Wausau( central Wis) and Eau Claire, pretty much OTR stuff. Really, don't spend too much time on this ticket, 60/40 is a fancy lawyer way of saying 50/50. You might , and you might not.
    N. Wis. only one thing there, and that's wood. That might be a good place to start, unless you need to stay in S. Wis. Those stick haulers are always looking for drivers and it's all local stuff too.
