I went to a school and passed my test. I've been on the road for 2.5 weeks and our truck went down when we were on the way to get my soft copy of my CDL. I was given paperwork to give the DMV also if asked. I've been sitting since Wednesday night now. If I leave the company can they block me from getting my physical CDL?

No, but I would stick with it. If you want to work for that high paying company. Job history is very important.

Wait it out. a few days or a weeks loss should not impact your entire future.

This is one of the reasons I say the first year of anyone in trucking is a very hazardous time. Make a false move and that's that. Stay put where you are.

If you have the paperwork they gave you, I would think you would be ok, but I'm not a hundred percent positive. I just know they have some kind I'm special exemption that lets people without an actual CDL Drive their trucks.

I just spoke with a guy that went through the school with me. They DQ'd him after orientation. Said he went home and just gave the DMV the paperwork and got his CDL.

2.5 weeks and already looking to jump ship, why?

If it's just because of a breakdown I say welcome to reality.

If there are other reasons do tell but if you're going to quit over a break down you may as well just quit trucking.

I'm stuck in a town. My trainer quit because he can't afford to fix the truck and the company has yet to put me with another trainer. I've lost $300 just sitting here and will be here for at least 3 more days.

Has the company come up with a plan to get you with another trainer? If you up and quit do you think you'll be up and running with a different company and making money any quicker?

It sucks sitting but stuff happens. If you did your homework and chose this company for a good reason it would be silly and short sighted to jump ship at this point.
