My dad could become a trucker

I hear ya Rerun...just venting a little not trying to copy you man!

Just seems like it is an everyday thing since i joined the board.
I know times are hard and many people have lost jobs including myself.
Trucking is not always the answer.

Heck,I lost a job a couple years ago driving a Nascar transporter.
We never slept in the truck,all expenses paid and stayed in top of the line hotels.New rigs every year....it was great!

Now i'm back to regular trucking and even that switch was hard.

Just want these new guys to know that it sure aint a bed of roses...

 

oh i ain't saying that by you stating (what i say from time to time) is bad, i'm just saying that at least others here have seen the same things i have and speak up about it. trucking is everyone's "saving grace" when they lose thier jobs. is how i see it, and apparently so do you...!!
many of these "new people" needing jobs simply will not stay long and i feel this in turn is only one in a many of causes why the pay is low for drivers, and will continue to be so, since there will always be an influx of starry-eyed people.....

 

Agree Rerun.....It used to be drivers were hard to find now there are thousands waiting in line.
No wonder these companies are getting away with paying so little.
Hell,i was making 36 cpm back in the early 90's hauling dry vans...

We are both thinking on the same lines...

Wonder if DAD will smell Gasoline in his truck.

 

I think the noise in the truck will get to him before the smell of gas.
