Is that I spend all of that money on school and trucking supplies (already spent $500 on travel things like sleeping bag, etc. I do not mind since I will have a use for it even if I am not trucking), after I invest all of that time and money that a trucking company will not hire me due to my visit to the hospital when a doctor gave me the wrong medicine which required me to get my heart shocked. On paper it looks like I almost died when in real life it wasn't that big of deal.

I have my two year DOT but I hear I have to go through a lot more company tests. Any time in life when something is under my control I seem to always succeed, but every time in life when I am judged by someone else they never pick me. I still have no idea how I didn't make the basketball team in high school over 14 years ago and every single person was shocked when my name wasn't on the list since I was the best and hardest working player throughout practice.

The same thing applies to my programming job interviews; my resume impresses everyone but I am not hired. So I am nervous since it seems that every time my life is in someone else's hands they like to screw me over. I can only assume people think that I can just get another job elsewhere due to my skill set and give my job away to someone else who they feel needs it more like a family man.

best thing i can advise is to get your doctor to give a detailed report of what happened and WHY. have the info on hand at all interviews or be ready to fax and be pro active instead of reactive. be honest and do not hide anything.

That's a good idea. I am not sure if they will take the blame though... she knew I had high blood pressure and prescribed me horse pills to fight a flu my girlfriend gave me and that is when my blood pressure went berserk and I had to go to ER. My blood pressure has been normal ever since (that happened over a year ago). It sucks if my ex hadn't gotten me sick I would have saved a couple of thousand dollars and wouldn't have that my on medical record. Does the truck company usually run your medical record themselves or do you provide it to them?

A one time medical event is not worth bringing up on a medical questionnaire. If it hasn't affected your long term health, don't put it down. Do you list every stubbed toe?
While you do sign a form that allows them to do medical records checks, they rarely do unless you first bring it up, or your current medical condition doesn't jive with what you put on their questionnaire.

Medical records are private, why would you even tell them about it?

Yeah I wouldn't even bring it up. It was a deal thing that happened. You really have nothing to worry about don't even mention it.

Not everything in your medical past is available to prying eyes. Only obvious things like major surgery would be, because of the scar. Now if you waltz into the interview room at the truck company and volunteer that this Doc shocked your heart a year ago, and there is no plain evidence, why shoot yourself in the foot? AND, there is no "central medical records" office anywhere in this country, so your record is private. If asked, just say you DON'T have a regular Doc.

I like that you take ownership of the situation. It's your girlfriends fault you got the flu, the doctor gave you the wrong meds, you basketball coach did pick you because he didn't want the best player, your resume is awesome but nobody will hire you. Sometimes life isn't fair, but maybe it's time to take a look at you, instead of trying to place the blame on others?

ah ok thanks a lot guys I thought they had access to everything or at least see why I went to the hospital. Like:

08/05/10 Hospital Name - atrial fibrillation

    or something like that.
Yes there has to be something wrong with me which I would like to find out. I am clean, professional, well mannered, hard working, etc. I asked a few friends what they think and to be honest and they said perhaps since I am so big and tall, handsome, and have so many skills I may intimidate them into taking their job one day.
