My debit card finally got hacked

I bet that Russian chick is hacking today.FBI has piles and piles of reports on hackers.Nothing ever gets done.Every day it's getting worse and worse.Doesn't sound like a hard thing to learn either considering how many hackers there are.

 

It's just not a new thing in my opinion. I was in the Navy 30 years ago. Even then, just trust me on this, privacy / anonymity is an illusion if your part of the civilized rat race.

People are outraged to think that someone might know their nasty little secrets or habits. But the people that look at, and analyze that kind of data, really could care less.
And most wished they'd never seen a lot of things lmfao.

 

some Truck stops sell sleeves a card fits in, similar to what a bank gives you to protect a card. these sleeves are suppose to block scanners while in ones wallet or where ever in your possession.

I've never had a card hacked

 

DO NOT UPDATE! Whenever you get one of these messages, DO NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY TO DO! I had the same thing on my Android tablet. Even to them saying my "phone." Idiots....

 

I figured as much.Its like it's a normal thing with hacking and viruses in today's technology.

I was at a store a while ago and was talking to the guy at the register and he told me that his friend got hacked. He even had the new card with the chip?

 

Replace it. A bank can generate a new debit card in person next day in 3 minutes. Even the chip ones.

We got hacked before. It's real easy to shut off the source of that trouble and replace both the card, card numbers, pin and replace the checking account. The mother lode checking account is somewhere else in another bank without a debit card or credit card on it for autodrafts.

 

The chip card is very simple.

You walk into ... ahab's store and buy a soda 6 pack. Use your card.

Electronically Ahab's store and your Credit card along with the issuing bank has to agree on one particular one time use number key that is about 255 digits long. When all three agree and match, your transaction is approved following a check of your balance on that card, information etc.

Once you pull that chip card out. That specific key, the really large number goes bye bye. It is a one time use and there is NO way anyone inside Ahab can use that particular chip card to transact.

The problems occur when someone inside ahab's store tries to use the number of the chip card, dates, address etc.

That happened to my ex three weeks ago. Everything was approved by the bank until it hit and tripped over the specific apartment number that was not supplied. We live in a building with many. Ours are unlisted.

The bank failed the person's attempt at transaction. The seller in MN of tools sent ex a letter saying did you try to buy tools from us online from so and so across town in Ahab's store by cell phone amazone?

No? Great be well, we will cancel this transaction.

Replaced everything at ex's bank in a few minutes and no losses anymore.

However whoever was in that specific store using ex's chip card had everything correct except the apartment number required to complete and cause bank to approve and go through with the sale online.

That was very dangerous to us. Even with a chip debit card. So... we had to make further changes.

Anything made by man is not infallable because Man has plenty of time to sit and create a way around the problem.

 

Your better off with a prepaid debit card from a Walmart or similar purchase. Buy a $25 card (you pay $3.50 for the initial card). Then load it with what ever you need. If some one does hack it, your only out the balance. At least then your not out the balance of the home bank.
